Dorothy Ruiz propone a Ford promover las carreras de la STEM
For Dorothy Ruíz, Flight Planning Controller at NASA is a great honor being selected as one of Fords Legendary Woman, an initiative to honor Hispanic women who embody Fords four core characteristics: smart, green, quality and safety. I feel flattered by the nomination and admire and respect those women selected, and hope learning of their wisdom, work and career. Ruíz believes that she possesses a little of each of the brands cores. “All women are smart, the key is to discover our talents and put them in practice, and also making decisions with positive results at our work and family life. With time I have become a more efficient person not only regarding work projects, but in things I do in daily life.” Ruíz proposes Ford to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers among Hispanic youth and particularly among Hispanic women. “The STEM field is the future of economic growth globally, is a powerful tool to tackle stereotypes, overcome certain difficult economic conditions, solve gender inequality regarding salaries and its a source of women self-esteem, because when a woman works in these fields she feels smart, capable, less discriminated and also nourishes creativity.”
